October 2004 Newsletter

We are off to a great year with exciting events and fascinating interest group meetings planned for the entire year. We thank Bill Landing for organizing the First Friday Gallery Tour. A small select group enjoyed exploring Railroad Square. On October 6, a group of FFC members met at the First Wednesday Member Mixer at the University Center Club to greet new faculty. On Saturday, October 30, Barbara & John Elam are hosting the Halloween Party at their house. Come dressed in costume and enjoy what promises to be a fun-filled evening. Two weeks later on Friday, November 12, the FSU Film School is inviting us to a film screening and a tour of their state-of-the-art facility by Dean Emeritus Ray Fielding. On Saturday, December 4, we will usher in the holiday season with the Holiday Happening hosted by Linda & Steve Leach in their lovely home. Make sure to mark your calendars for these events and the others planned for the spring of 2005 supplied to you in the yearbook sent with the September newsletter. In addition to the regular newsletters, I will keep you informed via e-mail. If you are not receiving my regular mass e-mail messages but have an e-mail address, please send it to me at all9002@fsu.edu.

Danke schön, spasiba, trimakasi, selamat detang, merci, muchas gracias etc. etc! The FSU International Center advisory board and staff would like to say many thanks to all of the FFC members and community friends who came to the Tallahassee Little Theater Benefit Night on September 22. Your support means a lot to the more than 1200 international students, scholars and their families at FSU. Benefit proceeds will be used to enhance current IC programs that foster cross-cultural exchange and understanding.
