November 2004 Newsletter

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

A BIG thank you to Barbara & John Elam for hosting our Halloween Party on October 30. The party was a huge success with 40 festively and imaginatively dressed members enjoying the evening. Two weeks later on November 12, the FSU Film School invited us to a film screening by Dean Emeritus Ray Fielding and Dean Frank Patterson followed by a tour of their state-of-the-art facility with film school students as excellent tour guides. The 45 attendees were most impressed by this wonderful facility on our campus. Our next event is scheduled for Saturday, December 4 to usher in the holiday season with the Holiday Happening hosted by Linda & Steve Leach in their lovely home from 5:30-7:30 PM. The wine and other beverages are provided by the Club with several members having offered to bring hors d’oeuvres and desserts. Feel free to bring your favorite food to supplement those refreshments to ensure a fulfilling evening. The Billy Bowlegs 5k Run and 1 Mile Walk has been changed to Saturday, January 15 by the GWTC. The flier will be attached to the early January newsletter but be sure to mark your calendar now and plan to include this race in your New Year’s resolutions. This will be our 21st scholarship run. I am challenging you to come and run or walk with us to make this race a special one for our scholarship recipients. Like last year, we are planning a delicious brunch directly after the race. It will take place in the Renegade Grill in the Seminole Golf Clubhouse across from the FAMU/FSU College of Engineering. The Chinese New Year at Lucy Ho’s Oriental Bistro is scheduled for January 23. Being a Sunday, there will be plenty of parking and space in the restaurant to enjoy a delicious meal and wonderful camaraderie.

Happy Thanksgiving! Best wishes to all of you for a blessed holiday season and for a wonderful New Year.

Annelise Leysieffer
