PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

With the school year drawing to a close, so is my fifth term as president of the Faculty & Friends Club of FSU. It has been an exciting year with successful and well-attended events. I want to thank the wonderful board members for their dedication to the Club and for making my job such an easy and pleasant one. Heartfelt thanks are extended to Barbara Elam. She has done a super job as vice president. I wish Barbara and her new board members the very best for the upcoming year. It promises to be another fun-filled one. I want to thank the interest group chairpersons, the event chairpersons and the hosts and hostesses who have so graciously opened their homes to our Club members. Thanks go to Lucy Ho, Anthonys and New Leaf Market for donating to the Billy Bowlegs and to the Club members for their donations, enabling the Club to provide seven scholarships this year. I wish to give special thanks to Alice Nichols for her dedication to our scholarship for deserving, undergraduate students. Alice has worked tirelessly for this project since 1994, and we have given out 63 $500 scholarships since then.

We thank Sharon and Alan Adams for arranging and chairing the fascinating tour of the Moore Athletic Center Sports Medicine Facility at the University Center complex. The Tour was preceded by lunch at the Renegade Grill in the Seminole Golf Clubhouse. The last monthly event for 2004-05 will take place on Thursday, April 21. It is the Annual Dinner and Business Meeting, which will once again be held at the Capital City Country Club with Don Rapp providing the entertainment. We look forward to seeing you there. Please return the enclosed questionnaire to Beth Charness to help make her year as vice president run smoothly. Questionnaires will also be available at the Annual Dinner. Have a wonderful summer.
