October 2009 Newsletter

From the President’s desk

Greetings Fellow Members,
Fall is here and our hot, humid summer is thankfully giving way to cooler nights (with open windows for better sleeping), and warm sunny days. Just the kind of weather to encourage us to join the Outdoor Explorers Group on their planned hike around Lake Overstreet in Maclay on October 11th. And don’t forget our many other wonderful interest group meetings, all now in full swing. Mark your calendars for the October Event celebrating Halloween on Friday, October 30th at the Charness home, as well as for our visit with Pete Cottrell to the WFSU Radio and TV studios planned for November 14th.  Hope to see you all there!
Pat Meredith
