November 2014 Newsletter

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Hello Everyone!  I hope you are all enjoying the Fall and have been taking advantage of the activities that the Faculty and Friends Club offers! We had a wonderful Halloween Party thanks to Neil and Beth Charness! Don Rapp organized a great walk at Alford Greenway for November’s gathering of the Outdoors Explorers, and Stitch and Chat is busy making blankets for babies, just to name a few of the things that are going on! Our next monthly Club-wide event will be the Holiday Party at Dorothy Oven Park on Saturday, December 6. I hope to see many of you there!

It’s that festive time of year!!! Start the holiday season on Saturday, December 6, and join your friends for the FSU Faculty and Friends Holiday Party at the beautiful Dorothy B. Oven Park. The Club will provide wine, beer, soda and hot mulled cider. Your contribution of either a sweet or savory treat would be greatly appreciated by the committee. This is a good time to catch up with friends and enjoy the spectacular lights at Dorothy B. Oven Park. There is plenty of parking near the main house with overflow parking in the office-building complex at the end of the Park.
If you have any questions, please contact the chair, Dian La Tour at 907-0512. We thank the committee for organizing this special event – Diane Stuart, Barbara and John Elam, Linda and Bob Clickner.

We look forward to seeing you there!

As you see, these awardees are often working, some full time, and many have families. With their busy lives, their GPAs are still between 3.03 and 4.0! These awardees are admirable and certainly deserving of our Alice B. Nichols scholarships. Several have written to thank us for the timely funds, which will help them with books, supplies, and so on.
Thanks for your generous contributions to the scholarship fund!
