February News for the Faculty & Friends Club of FSU
We made $2600 for our scholarship students from the 31st annual Bowlegs 5k. Huge thanks go to Larry Giunipero and Bill Hillison for continuing this tradition. Larry and I began working together the 2nd year of the race, and Bill joined us a few years later. The date is already set for the 32nd Bowlegs planned for January 9, 2016.
38 members enjoyed a delicious meal at Azu to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
Next week on Tuesday, February 10 beginning at 7:30 p.m., join us for the annual Valentine’s Dance at the American Legion Hall by Lake Ella. Come dance to the Tallahassee Swing Band with our own Bill Landing. Upon arrival, let them know that you are with the Faculty & Friends Club to receive a discount on the already low $6 entrance fee. The club will provide a few refreshments, and you can buy your beverages there. Please let Annelise know if you are planning to attend at aleysieffer@gmail.com in order for Bill Landing to have some tables reserved for us.
On Saturday, February 21 at 6:30 p.m., Linda & Bob Clickner will open their festively decorated house for our annual Mardi Gras party. Their address is 3099 Shamrock Street West. We thank the Clickners for inviting us to their house. Please bring your own wine if you wish and bring either hors d’oeuvres, salads, desserts or a main course for this potluck. Please let Linda know either at lindaclickner@gmail.com or call her at (703) 850-6893 by Tuesday, the 17th to let her know if you are coming and what dish you are bringing to help Linda and her committee better plan the evening. Please be advised that the Clickners have a steep semi-circular driveway so if you have limited mobility, please pull up to the top of the driveway by the garage and come through the back door. Otherwise, park in the driveway or on the street.  There should be plenty of parking on Shamrock. From Linda: Laissez les Bon Temps Rouler!
