December 2007 Newsletter

The Halloween Party at Barb and John Elam’s was another fun event, and we want to thank them for all their planning, work, and great decorations. About 40 of us attended, enjoying good food and fellowship. Some of the costumes were wild.

We had a beautiful day to tour Tall Timbers. Jim Cox and Curtis did a wagon ride around the property, and Juanita Whiddon gave us an interesting tour of the Beadel House. We (28 of us) also enjoyed having a snack on the porch overlooking the lake.

December 8, we will have our Holiday Reception at the Dorothy B. Oven Park House. Please see item in this newsletter.

Calvin Zongker says that the financial status of the club is in great shape, and that the membership is higher at this time than it was last year. We now have 175 paid members, and I would like you to assist me in meeting my personal goal of having 200 paid members. We can do it with your help in reaching out to new and former members.

Please read the newsletter for information on all the great interest groups and programs that are offered. Thank you to all the board members and interest group chairs for all their hard work.

Save these future dates:
Saturday, January 19 – Billy Bowlegs 5k and 1 Mile Walk
Sunday, February 10 – Lucy Ho’s Chinese New Year Dinner
Thursday, March 13 – Tour of FSU Film School
Wednesday, April 16 – Annual Dinner and Business Meeting
I hope to see you December 8, and I wish you a very special holiday season.

Joannie Poulson
