PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Thanks to Andy and Liz Payer for making the tour of the College of Medicine so rewarding. Members raved about the event. I couldn’t be there, but I heard we had a good turnout (45), and those members who went to the Fresh Food Company said they really enjoyed the atmosphere, and that the food was excellent.
The Annual Dinner will be held at the Capital City Country Club. Al Trezza and Beth Charness have worked on making this a special evening, and I hope we get a good turnout. This is one of our best opportunities to get people from the various interest groups together at one time and able to meet each other. The Philippine Society will offer music and traditional dance. This may be your last chance to visit the old Club House, since it is about to be torn down to make way for course renovations.
I want to thank the interest group chairs for their continued dedication to their groups. Many of the groups have grown in size because of this. Those of you, who are continuing to serve another year, keep up the good work. I know that the new chairs will do a good job also.
Thank you board members for being a superb group to work with. I like the fact that we could toss out ideas and then discuss them. Makes for a good board. I am also glad for your expertise. That way we didn’t have a lot of meetings, but when we did, we got things done. Thank you Annelise for writing the newsletter. That is a big job to get all the information you need, but you have done an excellent job.
At the Annual Dinner, we will be voting on possibly raising the annual dues from $16 ($12 for retirees) to $20 ($15 for retirees) to meet our annual expenses and cover more of the refreshments.
