Outdoors Explorers
With such a huge group of Outdoors Explorers members, please don’t let this group fold. Maybe some of you could get together to plan a couple of outings in the spring, whether a hike or a visit to an interesting site. If you have an idea, please let me know, and I will be happy to advertise it for you.
PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Dear All,
Thank you so much for making our annual reception at the Brokaw-McDougall House such a success. The weather was beautiful, the food and drinks were plentiful and nicely complemented this gathering of friends. Thank you all, especially to those who helped and brought those delicious foods to the reception. Thank you especially to all those who helped to set up and cleaned up the place. The reception was a success because of this very organized and harmonious cooperation from these devoted members, during and after the reception. I had taken notes of your names, but I could not name all of you here. Please know that I am very grateful.
We have several new members who seemed very please to have joined. We have met the recipients of the Scholarships, all listed below, and their families. Our speaker, Jennifer Buchanan, was very inspiring and spoke about the university’s mission.
Please remember to invite potential members to join our Club. We have an upcoming Halloween Party at Beth & Neil Charness’s house on October 29. The Holiday Party on December 3 at Dorothy B. Oven Park is always a wonderful gathering before the end of the year. Let us continue to support our Club’s activities and those of its many interest groups.
All the best,
Josephine
Alice B. Nichols Scholarship recipients for Fall 2011:
